There are SO MANY THINGS I adore about the finished artwork.
BSAS always felt like a purple book to me, and that combined with the blues and pinks leads to “bisexual lighting” that’s ideal for a romance between a bisexual girl and a lesbian.
Adria’s conjured flame of energy feels like it’s in motion. Kori’s Morpheus sphere of captured memory gleams.
Adria’s bulk, from her sheer musculature to her broad wings and clawed hands, is so evident here, balanced by her curls and her half-smirk. Kori is slight by comparison, heavily armored, with only a small heatshot pistol to defend herself, but the determination on her face proves she’ll be a stubborn force to be reckoned with, anyway.
Aspect, Kori’s robot companion, doesn’t appear here (yet,) so you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer to meet my favorite character in the book.
Trust me, they’re going to be your favorite, too—the chaos gremlin has a way of winning hearts, even those of shadow princesses locked tightly against unnecessary emotion.
